Gladehearts nerovusness broke alittle at the site of the cheery cat before her,and in her mind she kept repeating that you onlylived once. Surely if he, Widspirit could be so jolly, so could she? With a sigh she passed back the nevousness and no longer gave fear-scent, this was for mayham and fun, and surley fear would just mess it up!. Suddenly, a grin sat on her face and she mewed " I always wondered how clan mice tasted"

Soft evening light was just beginning to fade from the valley, vanishing over the distant horizon, casting the familiar deep black shadows behind every object in its path. The earlier cold rains had stopped and a gentle breeze had sprung up, making the grasses whisper as it danced between them and shaking the water from the very treetops. As dusk fell, the outlines of two predators could be seen making their way across the valley, a slender tabby and white tomcat in the lead. His head was down as he bounded up the side of a viciously steep hill, mismatched ears were flicking from side to side and his usual light airy gaze was now in night mode. All his senses were trained, honed to perfection, as Windspirit continued to climb the gargantuan hill.
Thought the tomcat was fit and really quite athletic, by the time he reached the top his sides were heaving as he fought to draw breath fast enough. He threw a casual glance over his shoulder to check his companion was still keeping up before faking a dramatic faint on the rocky floor. He continued to lay there, waiting for her to find him, but he was far from just catching his breath. His ears, nose and eyes were working overtime, trying to scent, see and hear everything within ten metres of himself. For the most part he couldn't detect any danger, there was no scent of cats on the wind, other than that of him and his friend, and he could hear nothing but the sounds of the wild, waking up for the night. Still panting slightly, he raised himself onto his elbows and strained his eyes to see further, the dark rocks and stone that surrounded him were no help at all, they seemed to make everything darker, more black than a BoneClanners heart. He snig gered at this last thought and continued to stare, silently hoping that his companion would get her sooner.. his stomach had started to grumble ominously.

Maple groaned inwardly, muscles on fire. She wasn't a hiker, slender legs made for short sprints, not long mysterious walks. Yet as her heart and lungs worked furiously, it gave her time to think. It seemed like seconds ago she was aiming to kill this cat, but now following him as a friend through unknown turf. Shaking her head she slowly caught up with him, a bit light-headed from-not only hunger- but the walk, " I don't know how I keep this figure when im so out of shape, and how you have so much energy to burn." she panted, closing her green eyes for a few seconds. With a swish of her brown tail and one last deep breath she asked " So many trees, I've never been up here before. We are in clan terf though, so we need to proceed cautiously....." With a small in-ward gasp, a bit of fear came back to her, enemy terf, clan terf, cats who could fight better then any. Trying to fight away her fear, she sheathed and unsheathed her claws, opening her mouth to take in other scents.

(OoC: Is Maple now Gladeheart? =/ *puzzled*)
Windspirit grinned wickedly as Maple caught up to him, looking a tad dizzy. In all honesty, he loved the way the air pushed against his fur as he ran, and if it was windy? Well - even better! That was what gave him his undying energy, the power of nature and the feeling of untethered freedom that it gave him. It was now pretty much pitch black. A few stars had made an appearance and a beautiful half moon hung in the dark night sky.
Windspirit gave his chest fur a few quick licks, allowing Maple to catch her breath, before pushing himself up to standing position and assessing the situation. He had worked out that they were literally, on the borders of StoneClan. A few pawsteps further and they would officially be in Clan territory. The thought enthralled him.
'D'you want to hunt?' he grinned at Maple, 'Or d'you need more time to rest, it was a pretty big climb.' he studied her for a moment, a thoughtful look glazing his blue eyes, before twitching his whiskers in huge sneeze. Little did he know that the same thoughts he was having, had recently crossed through Maples mind too.

(( Ill edit my post, sorry about that, I go to a few other Warrior RP sites ))
Maple for a few second became bedazzled by the stars and moon, for it was rare for her to glance at them. She usually woke up early and fell asleep early just as the sun was setting. Blinking a few times she shook her heads and caught some of the word Windspirit said. " Hm?...." she meowed n a tired voice, but then a light flicked in her head and she woke up " Im fine, just needed a few breathers. Hunting sounds fine to me. Hm now, mice birds...so much to choose from in clan terf, I never really thought of it..." she hummed, staring at her feet where the StoneClan border lay. She blinked a few times to try and settle her thoughts on hunting and not being a worry-wart, yet her mind kept thinking of terrible things that could happen......

Warfox was out by the clan borders, doing a border check on the off-chance Battledream, from the next clan over, might be doing a check of their borders. He was doubting it, and he was right. So it kind of put a real damper on his day. Not that you could ever tell, with Warfox. He wasn't one to show much emotion, except for the spastic twitch of his tail.
It was with a certain amount of further irritation that the crotchety deputy heard two young voices, apparently planning on hunting in clan grounds, or possible intent on causing other such trouble. He dropped his lower jaw and breathed in to get a good sniff of the air. One of them smelled like she was very worried. The other, not so much. He pulled back his upper lip in a silent annoyed snarl and stalked forward a few more paces.
Warfox wasn't going to stop them- not immediately, not unless they stepped one toe over the clan border. Then, he was going to make his presence known in no uncertain terms. Did no one teach their kits manners anymore, or were these two just in the rebellious, pick fights with things you shouldn't, and cause problems stage?

Two ears were twitching back and forth, picking up the night sounds that surrounded a pair of young felines. The larger, possibly older of the two, bent his white head to sniff at an invisible line along the rocky floor, letting the scent fill his nostrils 'til all else was blocked out. Hesitating slightly, he reached out a single paw and placed it over the invisible barrier for just a second, letting it touch the ground before whisking it back towards him and doing an excited full 360 degree twirl. His multicoloured tail was held high in the air and his light blue eyes twinkled with youthful mischief, Windspirit was a mostly gentle creature, he didn't want to cause harm to any cat. Yet little did he realise that he might end up being harmed instead - a heavy price to pay for an adventurous jaunt across a border line.
The tom jumped forwards abruptly, so that all four paws were across the border, and sprang back again, as though he were a player in some strange kind of skipping game. A wide grin spread over his handsome, whiskered face and he laughed into the night. 'Hey Maple!' he laughed, 'I've been in StoneClan! Hahaha - look at this!'
He jumped over and back again and did another crazy little twirl, whirling his paws around in exhileration, happy to have something fun to do, and someone fun to do it with.

Maple watched with half interested-half amused expression as her companion jumped back and forth, and the she-cat couldnt help but let out a chuckle. Slowly she put a white paw over the invisible line, felling the soil in the black night on her toes. It was strange, the feeling, and also hard for her to put a paw on how it was. " I wonder if there is some clan law about a cat having to have there full body over the line to be considered in there terf" she mused with another chuckle, still watching Windspirit, envying his energy. The chocolate she-cat's ehart missed a beat as an odd smell came to her nose " Windspirit, do you smell......?" she didn't complete her sentence, not wanting to seem a fool by guessing what it was. Yet as the breeze came to her nostrils and the trees crinkled, again that smell came to her.

The wind shifted, and Warfox shifted with it. He stood and moved until the wind no longer carried his scent straight to the cats. Then he changed his mind, moving back so that they would surely smell his scent.
"You would be well advised not to treat clan borders as a joke," he said sternly, stepping forward around a rock. The deputy did not look amused. He figured maybe if he could scare these two ruffians into realizing the importance of a border, maybe he'd save them a thrashing from one of the other clans. And if they were planning on joining Stoneclan, they'd need to understand the importance of borders, too.
The massive orange tom sat, looking down at the two kits severely.

Windspirit was having too much fun to notice the new scent being carried towards them on the breeze. This, you might say, would probably be his downfall. He jumped visibly as a huge ginger tomcat emerged from nowhere, and he took a pawstep backwards, his blue eyes widening slightly. Now he was concentrating, he could smell the Clan-scent coming from the newcomer, and he guessed that meant nothing good for him and Maple.
'Evening' he said, attempting a smile, 'Well protected, these things, aren't they?' he nodded at the invisible line, flicking his tail tip. He wasn't scared. He'd been in fights before. He wasn't nervous either, he just wasn't exactly comfortable with the situation.
He sat his bottom on the stone floor and curled his tail up to cover his paws, taking a glance at Maple, to see how she was taking this. 'So what's your name?' he asked the older cat, 'Mine's Windspirit, this is Maple' he twitched an ear in her direction with a small smile. He'd learned early on in life that a confident attitude, politeness and blagging could get you out of a variety of tight corners, but that wasn't why he was doing this.
They'd gotten caught red-pawed, and fair enough. This was just him trying to be nice and make ammends for his earlier kittishness.

Maple's heart skipped a beat as a clan-cat tom came form were he was. Her fur bristled, but as she saw he didn't imeadilty attack them, she relaxed a bit. Usually she had a sly tongue, yet she felt as if Windspirit would do better at getting them out of this. Her back fur may be standing on edge, yet her piercing green eyes just stared at the tom before her. Afraid she may ruin this and get the clan-cat to spit fire, she said nothing, tail curled around her paws where she sat.

Warfox arched both eyebrows at the younger tom-kit. He was sure quick with his tongue, wasn't he? But at least he wasn't being sarcastic. The ginger tom couldn't stand sarcasm. And the other kit looked like she was going to jump out of her skin if he twitched a whisker in her direction.
"They have to be, kit, or we'd be overrun by those of ill-intent, I suppose," he rumbled, putting his paw on the border. He picked it up and replaced it in the same pawprint he'd moved it from.
"I'm Warfox," he said. His fluffy orange tail curled over his front paws, and he tapped it meditatively on his toes for a moment.
"Do you speak, young one, or does he do all the talking?" he asked the she-kit. At least he didn't growl when he said it. He actually thought he did rather well, although he was at best awkward around kits. He wasn't sure what, exactly, to do with them. They were weird little beings. But at least he was trying to be nice.

Maple's fury was bundled up in a package inside of her. Kit? Her fur stood up on ends as she replied " Of course I can speak! I just prefer not to speak to err strangers " she murmured, tail tip twitching. Wonder stretched through her as to why this cat...Warfox? Well Warfox didn't just chase them his clan's land. Warfox........why did clan cats always have two names put t one? Curiosity about clan ways curled inside of her, and she was impatient for a reply.

(OoC: Did Maple actually ask Warfox a queston or was that what she was thinking in her head? =/ I'm stoopid. xDD)
Windspirit smiled, nodding in agreement at Warfox's statement about the borders. The tortie tomcat was half-Clan, on his fathers side, but he'd been brought up with his kittypet mother until he was old enough to go it alone, and though he'd never been a true Clancat himself, he could understand the need for keeping out riff-raff and troublemakers.
'Greetings Warfox,' he meowed, as he bowed his head slightly at the older tom, 'An interesting name, I hope you don't me saying.' He then had to suppress a little 'mrrow' of amusement as Maple puffed out her fur. He could sense her indignition about being called a kit, but to this Warrior, he supposed, the two of them were quite young. He glanced at her and smiled again at her answer to Warfox's question, and gave a small reassuring purr, twitching his own tail in a calm and almost relaxed manner.

(( no, it was in her head. Ill bold whathe says to make it easier to read ^_^))
Maples fur slowly went striaght against her back as she saw the calmness in WIndspirit and his resuring purr. She sighed and couldnt help but mutter, " Sorry for my outburst" Her ears pricked high when Windspirit said his name was intresting. Of course she would have to ask about Clan names, then she would get a bit of sleep knowing the fact that stung her mind. " Why is it that Clan names are so....Different?" she mewed, green eyes shinning.

Warfox ignored the she-cat's outburst, merely flicking an ear at her and turning his head just slightly to look at the tom as he spoke up.
"Why are non-Clan cats' names so odd?" he asked the she-cat in a lazy drawl. Before she could explode again, thought, he continued speaking.
"It is tradition. Much like gatherings, patrols, not eating when you're hunting for the clan, and..." he paused for a moment, and then smiled slightly, "...and clan borders. Were the pair of you trying to find a clan, or just out on a lark?" he asked.

Smiling slightly at Warfox's ready response to Maples question, Windspirit himself began to wonder about names.
When you think about it, the very idea of names is strange. What law is there that decrees every cat should have a name? What rule has been laid down that says every cat should be called by only one name? And what in fact, actually gives a cat its name? An idea? A colour? A being? And then the names themselves are so many, so varied. How could a mother possibly choose names for her kits from such a vast stockpile of ideas and creations? He supposed the Clans had the right idea with traditions.. creating boundaries to simplify the choices.
Windspirit shook his head slowly, trying to empty it of all this crazy philosophy. It wasn't normally in his nature to wonder, he just accepted things for what they were rather than questioning how they came to be. He grinned again and flicked his tail tip excitably at the next question Warfox put to them.
'Well, to be honest, we just got a bit bored.. Clan life isn't my way of living, I prefer to travel a bit..' he meowed, as respectfully as he could whilst admitting they were bugging the Clan-cats for the fun of it..
