Speak of the devil. Goldenblaze rolled his eyes irritably. They had better chance of moving a tree back home than moving him. He was solid as a brick.
Hopeless had been inching away toe-length by toe-length throughout this entire conversation. The two still showed signs of debating on attacking his 'father', or going back and going after him. At the sound of Shinentai's voice he gave a startled 'eep' and jumped back to his original spot, pressing flat to the ground.
Goldenblaze listened with intent curiosity. He was free to take them? No consequences? He did not trust any of this band of cats, and he suspected he had alterior motives in letting him have his kits back. More than anything he wanted to bring them home and watch them train, but clearly after Shinentai slipped away they showed no wishes of leaving. He gave a deep sigh. Fine, have it their way. If they so chose to leave, he wouldn't stop them. He was turning away, when...
But... Goldenblaze flicked his stub of an ear to glance at Hopeless with calm regard. He looked terrified, looking torn. He kept glancing past Goldenblaze at where Shinentai had disappeared, and back over his shoulder at Boneclan.
.... I dun wanna go home, sis' He said sadly. It wasn't that the prospect of living with his father was so appealing, but... He had the freedom to do what he wanted, go where he chose.
Y'see the way Mom looks at me... I'm such a disappointment to her. Like she ate Voltaire 'n Maelstrom... I dun wanna get eated, sis! He said sadly, desperation in his eyes. She's so... unpredissable. An' every'body picks on me, 'n it won't be long 'till I die too He said, filled with misery. It surprised Goldenblaze how resigned he sounded about the prospect of his death. He frowned, but shook his head.
Do what you want, you three, but make up your minds.
