She gave a soft smile, almost sad, and nuzzled him. "Just keep in mind you now live in Risingclan, here with me... You are loved now.
... And never weak to me," She said lovingly, entwining her fluffy tail with his, and she lay down to muse. "I.. I think that would be a good idea, as long as your father did not become another bachelor for this land. Already we have many enemies wanting our land and prey..." She said softly, eyes staring into the distance. "As long as he can be controlled...
It would be a good idea." She looked up and smiled, ears twitching calmly, paws kneading the ground.

Kestrel stood beneviolently on the stone, watching her chattering Clan below. She allowed them time to speak amongst themselves before calling their attention back to her; it was good for them, as a Clan.
"As you all know," she called out, "RisingClan attended last night's Gathering. Some cats reguarded us with hostility and mistrust, but for the most part, we were well-recieved.
Trouble arose, however, when a small group of rogues snuck into the Gathering. For reasons unknown to us, one rogue attacked a blind she-cat without provocation and killed her.
Her name was Blindsong." Here, Kestrel paused, dipping her head in respect for the life the she-cat had lived.
Then she continued on. "The rogues were chased away, and the Gathering dissolved soon after. No Clan leader had time to speak."
Her small speech ended abruptly. Kestrel had been awake for many hours, and she was tired. She leapt gracefully to the sandy ground and slipped into her den.
She thought privately that maybe next time she would attend the Gathering alone. RisingClan should be reprisented...
Kestrel laid her head on her paws and dropped into an uneasy sleep.

Let me comfort you...
Chasm had remained by Kestrel's side all the way home. The Gathering had been disastrous and he felt terrible that she had had to experience such brutality on her first attempt to assimilate. Padding quietly on his huge, black paws, he slipped his head inside the entrance to her den. She had been his leader in front of the clan, but right now, this was the cat he loved.
"Kestrel..." he whispered. "Mind if I come in...?" OOC: I am going to assume that her den is large enough for company ^^;

Bluerage bowed her head in shock and remorse. She had heard that cat's name before, calm mutterings. It brought sorrow to hear this news.
... At the sacred grounds of a gathering, nonetheless. She watched as her leader stepped away. She looked tired and a bit well for worn. Bluerage couldn't blame her. She wondered how Stoneclan would take that.... Needing time to think, she turned away from the group and padded away quietly, giving Darkwhisker a nod that meant she could go to sleep as well, and slipped quietly from the camp.

Bete nodded at Kestrels words. Emediatly, the siamese cat went from feeling anger, to sadness. It was all so sad. Little did she know that StoneClan had lost another Warrior. She realized the the full moon was coming sooner than she thought, and she wondered who was going to the Gathering.

Kestrel raised her head off her paws, blinking slowly. "No...come in," she meowed softly, shifting aside to make room for Chasm.
She had been on her paws for a long time...some comfort would be nice. The carnage at the Gathering had not fazed her much, for she had witnessed violence before, but the suddeness of it was troubling.

Deepcreek stood and listened to her leader speak. When she finished, the she cat reminded standing just when she was, but stared down at the ground as if some answer to what was going on would be written there. But it wasn't. Her tail waved slowly from side to side, and still she stared at the ground, thinking furiously.
Finally, she came to a conclusion. If she thought this was chaotic, she hadn't been around enough chaos. Surely this was nothing compared to the chaos of... well, it would get worse. She felt certain of this.

Let the darkness fade away...
Chasm nodded and pulled his bulk of muscle in after him. Crouching low so that he wouldn't smash his head into the ceiling, he curled up next to Kestrel and leaned his head against her shoulder.
"So my dear, what troubles you?" he asked, closing his swirling gray eyes in an effort to make her feel more at ease. No one seemed able to stare into his gaze for very long.

Kestrel looked wearily up at Chasm, appearing faintly suprised. "Nothing," she meowed truthfully. The death of poor Blindsong, while unfortunate, did not change her plans; still her alliance would meet BoneClan's in battle, and they would be crushed. And the shadow that hung over the Rogue Meadow would be dispelled.
Kestrel swept her paw across the sandy floor of the den, watching Chasm with curiously hesitent eyes. The gesture was a not-so-subtle way of saying, here, lay down. But some part of her still felt nervous and unbalanced requesting such things so easily. Close relationships with other cats was something Kestrel, oddly enough, had little firsthand experience with.

Bringing the world back into view...
Chasm opened his swirling gray eyes once again. He found it hard to believe that nothing could be troubling her on the eve of war. He shifted a little, stretching out as much as the small den would allow. Feeling somewhat self-conscious, he made sure to leave enough room for her to be comfortable.
"How can it be that you have no concerns...with war looming over our heads?" he asked simply, this time looking into her eyes.

"I see no point in worrying overly much about something inevitable," she meowed simply, meeting Chasm's gaze unflinchingly. "RisingClan is strong, and we have four Clans in our alliance. We will win the war."
She spoke with absolute confidence. She was terribly proud of the Clan she had Gathered; they were a real Clan, loyal, powerful, just. BoneClan could not compare; they were little more than a twisted, flea-bitten band of bloodthirsty cat-eaters lead by an arrogant schitzophrenic black-furred ass. And with five Clans bearing down on them, how could they hope to stand? They would be crushed down into the dirt like the worthless dogs they were.
Kestrel smirked in satasfaction, liking the vision. Oh yes, justice would be served.
The BoneClanners would not like the taste, but Kestrel liked it just fine.

Is it ever enough to just want things to end well...?
Chasm smiled slightly. That was Kestrel for you, confident in whatever she set out to do. There seemed to be no stopping her march against BoneClan...and DuskClan from what he'd heard. The massive black and silver tom sighed, his sides rumbling in the beginnings of a purr. There was no stopping her, so he would just have to make sure he was there when the trouble started.
"You should really be careful with that confidence...one day some other tom is going to fancy you and steal you away from me!" he said, only half joking. He pressed his muzzle close to hers, worry flooding his body, no matter how hard he tried to stop it.

"Never."
Kestrel cut her eyes curiously at Chasm. He was really worried, then, wasn't he?
She wished she could tell him not to worry, but her future was uncertain. There was a war on. She herself felt confident; RisingClan would win. If she had to die to get there, then so be it. So be it. But there was no way she could tell Chasm not to worry. He feared her death as she never would.
...The truth, then. Pretending nothing would go wrong would not soften the blow. "If I die, RisingClan will be yours," Kestrel said softly. Her mismatched eyes glowed in the half-dark. "Will you lead them well?"

If only love could protect like teeth and claws...
Chasm gave her a tender lick on her forehead. She was so precious to him, he didn't even want to think about losing her.
"If it comes to that, I shall lead them like no other before me...a beacon of hope in the wake of destruction..." he said, strongly though his voice seemed solemn. Gazing into her fierce eyes, he tried to gather up what positivity he had and force it into his heart. If he lost her he would go on, but his soul would never be with him...
