"Well, it all works out well. I'm better at finding than attacking, Deepcreek said in reply to Kestrel, her better mood reasserting itself, now that something was being done.
She stood, as if to walk away, and then realized she didn't know where she thought she was going. She didn't really have anything to do. Hunting was always a good backup plan, but was it really necessary? The freshkill pile looked pretty good. The little scurrying things were coming out again, eager for the good spring weather.
"Is there anything that needs doing?" she asked Kestrel.

Rain...
Graystorm stepped up excitedly to touch noses with his new mentor, eyes glowing. He took up Crisp's chant. Cha-sm! Cha-sm! He shouted zealously; at last, he was an apprentice! He would soon be able to be hunt, fight, know his (that is, the clan's) territory like the back of his hand. Don't worry, he said to his siblings as the chanting died down, now I'll be able to protect you all from BoneClanners! Nobody'll ever be able to hurt us again! His eyes traveled over his blood sister Darkwhisker, his brother Life, and fell to rest on Soulless. The kidnapping and injury of his adoptive sisiter infuriated him like nothing else could. Graystorm then turned to look at his new mentor, his face set and determined. And I'll do anything it takes to make it so.
...is only an afterthought

[glow=black,2,500]Life caste an eager eye up at his leader, secret mentor, and savior, a silent trill making his tail dance as he stood to commend his leadress. She simply gave him a loving, encouraging look, which coursed through him like warm milk.
Excited by the prospect of the future, Life turned to Chasm, who had been silent all this time. Life looked up at him expectantly, waiting for an answer. He wanted to get started right away, so he could show Kestrel what a great warrior he could make![/color[/glow]

Bete sat at the back of the croud. The siamese listened with intentive ears. Chasm? Her tail twitched irretibly. She had never heard of Chasm, and believed Crisp should've taken the spot. He was a very active, trustworthy, and friendly cat in the Clan...
And had anybody told Kestrel about the missing cat...
She couldn't tell her, she had forgotten the cat's name! So Bete just sat, and waited. Sat, and waited...

There's got to be a break in the monotony...and here it goes again...
Chasm looked fondly at his new apprentice. Life lived up to his name, simply bursting with vigor.
"Well as the deputy I need to check with Kestrel and make sure that there is nothing else for me to do, then we can get started!" he replied happily, his shyness lost in his exuberance. "Why don't you follow me and we'll go talk to her?" The huge black tom sat and waited, twitching his tail.

zetsubou kara no hajimari te ni shlta kara ;;
Kestrel's gaze wandered across the cats of her Clan. She looked rather weary but deeply pleased. Her Clan was well and strong.
Glancing to Chasm, she gave a mrrow of laughter and shook her head, saying, "Your first order of business is to get to know your new apprentice. A hunting lesson will suffice. And if you bring back enough prey, we can have a feast; it's not every day we get so many new apprentices, and we should celebrate."
The she-cat padded away, toward her den. Before going inside, she raised her voice in a yowl. "Cats of RisingClan, if any of you have any questions or concerns about my appointment of deputy or mentors, come and speak to me now. I cannot ignore the opinions of my Clan."
After a short pause, she added, "I am going into my den now to rest. As I said, any concerned cats can speak to me there.
Crisp! Bluerage! You and your apprentices can patrol our borders; you can teach them where our territory lies along the way. I trust you to protect the new apprentices until you can escape, should an attack come. I doubt it will; I'll have Brightgate--" --who just settled on her shoulder once more-- "-patrol the borders above you, to warn you. Darkwhisker and Graystorm aren't ready for battle yet, natrually."
Brightgate took off in a flurry of rainbow colors, moving to circle far above Crisp, Bluerage, and their young apprentices.
"Deepcreek, you can make sure the camp is protected; you will be in charge while the others are away and I am resting."
With that, she vanished into her den.

Deepcreek noded once in reply to Kestrel.
"I can do that. Have a nice rest!" she told her leader, and then stretched, and looked around, and though again how nice it was for things to be quiet, like before a storm.
She sat down and took a good few minutes to get her paws and her legs clean, and her face, since she had nothing else to do just now. Then she wandered around the camp, just to make sure there were no funny things near the edge of it, and of course found nothing. Reassured, she went back to where she'd been sitting and sat down again.

Crisp nodded. Graystorm was a feisty young tomcat; he would make a good warrior of RisingClan, and the black tomcat would sure have a handful with the young apprentice. His tail flicked when Kestrel had finished and he padded over to his new apprentice. Amber hues shining, he seemed to tower over Graystorm.
"Well, Graystorm," he meowed, smiling, "when would you like to go hunting?" He glanced at the fresh-kill pile; it wasn't getting too low, but more food would help. Thinking of formally introducing himself, he sat. "My name is Crisp." His tail flicked again.

Bluerage bowed her head to Kestrel, but her ears flicked up and she gave a calm, level gaze to her leader as her name was called directly. Ah, take her apprentice on a patrol...? That should be fun, she figured. The assasin rose gracefully to her feet, her long tail brushing softly over the ground. She padded smoothly and dutifully over to Darkwhisker, giving her a soft nudge against her shoulderblade before speaking softly to her apprentice.
"Come, Darkwhisker. We shall (and must) patrol the borders. Get to know scents and our boundaries to our land. How does that sound?" She asked sweetly. Bluerage, despite being an assasin, was quite fond of kits. Now she had Darkwhisker to mentor.
"We shall see if Crisp shall wish to join us?" She asked again, getting to her feet and padding towards the cats across the clearing. "Hello Crisp," She said softly, eyes shining. "Do you mind if we join you on your patrol?" She asked, turning to look at Darkwhisker and flicking her tail to join her.

((Oh, and to Giddy's post - Onyx is right, Bluerage has been found, and Crisp had told Kestrel about it. READ. POSTS. Just 'cause it's on the previous page doesn't mean the rules don't need to be read. Go read my guide.))
Darkwhisker almost toppled over, despite the weakness of the soft push. The little gray she-cat wasn't a really balanced cat; she was never one to leap onto an extremely thin branch or fence. Her tail flicked and she looked up at Bluerage, almost frightenedly. But as she gazed into the pretty blue tabby she-cat's amber-yellow eyes, she felt a reassurance that she usually only felt around Burningflower and Soulless, and sometimes Life. Soulless was her fellow female; Life wasn't as 'evil' as Graystorm. Darkwhisker never felt comfortable with Graystorm. She was always getting pounced on by her brother. She knew she needed to stand up to her blood brother...but when?
The young apprentice nodded to her mentor and followed her, immitating her. Bluerage was an extremely loyal RisingClan warrior; if Darkwhisker was like her, she'd be liked by her fellow apprentices, wouldn't she? She'd be 'noble', 'bold'. Her tail flicked as she stood before Crisp and Graystorm. Her amber((?)) eyes dulled slightly as she stood across from her brother; he intimidated her. Darkwhisker knew he would make an excellent RisingClan warrior, and would fight well in the war, but she just wanted him to know how to keep his ambition under control. "Hello, Crisp," she meowed shyly, dipping her head in respect to the older warrior. Then she turned to her brother and stepped forward to touch noses with her brother. "Hi, Graystorm," she purred. Though he annoyed her a bit, Darkwhisker loved Graystorm, and would be extremely upset if anything happened to him.

Bete, with her large and mutanized ears, couldn't help but hear about a hunting trip. The slender cat finally got up, from just sitting still and looking around, and listening to every interesting conversation. Sadly, there was none until Crisp made his grand suggestion. The siamese slid over to the group, nodded to the two cats (whom of which she did not know) and smiled sweetly as she nodded to Crisp.
"Is it ok if I come too? I did not get any chance when I went with another group."

[Kest told them to. It was a direct order to Crisp and Bluestorm to take their apprentices out, which is why Bluestorm asked him if he'd like to join them.]

Crisp's ears flicked nervously as he heard Bluerage's soft, honey-coated voice. Even her sweet mew was beautiful. He jerked his head up from Graystorm, and his amber eyes twitched. Oh, what to say? Crisp had never felt like this before...oh, sure, he'd liked many she-cats, but none like Bluerage. Bluerage was...
"So cute..." he meowed under his breath. Realizing he had actually said that out loud, he straightened up, extremely embarrassed. Had he been a human, his cheeks would be bright red, but instead, his eyes were just hot with mortification. He scraped the dirt with his claws, wondering if Bluerage noticed the sharpness of the hooked blades. "Of course, you two may definitely join us," he meowed, trying to cover up his embarrassment with a grunt or two. He nudged Graystorm, and wondered if his apprentice found any of the newest apprentices cute. Ah, but then again, he'd grown up with Soulless as if they were blood-related, and he knew that if Crisp had done that, he wouldn't want to have his adoptive sister as a mate.
Crisp barely even heard Bete's question as he began to pad away, smiling at Bluerage.

Bluerage quirked her head to the side, brushing her tail tip over her back, this time being more careful. Bluerage was never bold or noble as Darkwhisker seemed to think her, but she was careful at her job, and graceful at everything she did.
... With exceptions to her capture, of course...
She raised her brow, not having anything much else to say to Crisp until her replied. Sure, she liked Crisp, even adored him, but she had always kept her composture around him. Was he afraid of her???
Oh Starclan...
She gave a gentle reassuring smile until he managed to spit out his answer, hoping to appear more 'domestic' instead of her mysterious and dark personality. What else was an assasin to act?
She smiled brightly, nodding to Darkwhisker as she passed and followed Crisp, tail flicking as she paused to listen to Bete's answer. As much as she wanted to spend time around Crisp, this was a job she had to do. She gave a careful nod to Bete, flicking her tail and coming to walk astride Crisp.
But as she walked, she subtly looked down at his paws. She had indeed noticed his weapons..

Darkwhisker giggled. Crisp looked so silly! She realized that he really liked her mentor. She was growing more confident already, in the company of other cats. Her dark gray tail flicked as she padded beside Bluerage, amber eyes bright with the light newleaf day. She stopped briefly to soak in the warmth of the sun, then ran after the group of cats going hunting. She turned her head as Bete asked to join them and watched Bluerage nod to the she-cat. She smiled at Bete. Hey, maybe together Bluerage and Bete could teach her how to get a tom to like her? She looked back up at her mentor and smiled. Even though Bluerage wasn't a noble cat, she was Darkwhisker's idol, and Darkwhisker wouldn't listen to anyone who told her that her mentor wasn't a good cat.

Bete ran to catch up, but only managed to get beside Darkwhisker. She siamese smiled, the chocolate markings on her face hardly let her face show, but she was still happy to finally go hunting!
Looking at the two cats up ahead, she squinted, then smiled. She had learned to get Crisp's love out of her head a long time ago. It wasn't happening, time to move along.
And moving along was what she did, they were going on a RisingClan adventure!
