Escaping from Chaos

Oh, in the old days, Warfox would've been within his rights to give Silverwhisker a dress down for that tone of voice. Not to mention the nickname. Claws dug into the ground for a moment, and muscles tensed to tackle someone. But this was silly. Just a nickname, and that sarcastic tone of voice. It was infuriating, but maybe that was going to extremes.

Also, he was second no longer, and he was just like everyone else. So he couldn't snap at the other cat for it. Well, he could've, he supposed, but there was no need to go making enemies when he was this new. Instead, he pinned the other tom with an annoyed glare and stepped away as the other went to punch his shoulder. Then he bounded off in a different direction, fleeing the company of the other two cats. Forget hunting. It seemed not even /that/ activity was safe.

[You know, I just realized how amusing a sight that would be. *laughs* Poor Warfox, I hope he lives through it.]

Blink.

Toms.

Chainless rolled her two-toned eyes towards the sky in an exasperated look, struggling not to laugh. No, she wouldn’t be laughing at either cat in particular, but they certainly were an amusing pair to have run into.

But it was a good feeling, one she felt rarely. Laughter was a good healer of mental wounds, after all.

But some scars never healed.

Confusion flicked through her serene gaze, as Warfox retreated from the area. Was something the matter?

Silverwhisker shrugged and caught a couple of more mice before digging up his squirrel. Then he walzed back over to Chainless. "I think... I think I caught enough for now... At least I hope... I hope I did..." He looked up at Chainless, her beutiful eyes stunning him for a moment. "Um... could I... could I walk you back to camp?" he asked, sort of pleadingly.

“I sure you did.”

She looked over his kills with a nod – Featherstar would be pleased that he had brought some good freshkill for the clan.

“Although I don’t require anyone to walk with me….I think I’d like the company. Yes. I’d be honored if you did so, Silverwhisker.”

Maybe she could learn some more about this cat. After all, as medicine cat she did need to know as much as possible about her fellow clan mates. It assisted when it came time to treat them for various injuries. If they could trust her, the other clan cats wouldn’t fight the healing.

Silverwhisker nodded nervously but happily. He took a dock leaf, rapped the fresh-kill in it, then put the ends on his long tail. The gray Warrior let his pelt touch Chainless' as he encouraged her to walk with him.
