Snowstripe had finally relented her deputy spot to retire in the den 3 days ago. Now, after hard work and a brutal hit to her strength, they were here. 3 Brand new kits. She licked each one softly, to reassure her heart they were all healthy as they nursed quietly. She lay down, staring driftily out the opening of the den, a quite smile upon her black muzzle.

It had been many, many days since they'd returned from the ill-fated Gathering. Dragonpelt had lost track of his mate and wondered where she'd gone. Overhearing that she'd taken to the nursing den, he hurried to it, wondering what he would find. He padded quietly into the den where he detected his mate's scent and was astonished to smell new scents, that mingled with hers. Peering into the opening, his heart leaped, 3 kits nestled by Snowstripe's side.
"Oh love, they're beautiful!" he exclaimed, bounding in and rubbing his face against hers. He purred in happiness.

Brindlepaw had followed Dragonpelt, she too was looking for Snowstripe. She lept into the air in suprise at Dragonpelt's yowl, but soon realized what it was all about. Nestled warmly and comfortably by her mentor's side were 3 beautiful little kits. Brindlepaw could not suppress a mew of joy as she bounded over, but making sure not to get too close just yet.

But Snowstripe looked at the two eagerly. Two of her most trusted in the clan had come to visit her and her new arrivals, of which she was proud of. She licked the tops of each's tiny heads, mewing to them softly as she smiled at the two cats in front of her.
Brindlepaw was growing with leaps and bounds, and her mate was fine as ever. She sighed contently, tail flicking. Yes, thank you dear. They are yours, too. Be proud.

Dragonpelt couldn't have felt happier. His heart felt so full, he feared it would burst with joy. He took a long look at his mate, her coat shiny and jet black, save for the white undermarkings that gave her her name. Then his gaze drifted again to the 3 squealing bundles of fur that nestled at her belly. He narrowed his eyes in endearment at the tiny lives that he was now partially responsible for and a fatherly air immediately overtook him. He lay down next to his mate and, lacking a long tail like her, instead curled his paws protectively around his new children. He scented Brindlepaw before he saw her and nodded gently to show her that she could come forward.
"They are so perfect...in my silly anxiety I feared all kinds of complications, but you and I have produced healthy little ones...that will one day join the rest of our clan in hunting and protecting their home..." he said, resting his head near the flank of one of the tiny kits. "So...how long do you think we should wait before giving them names?" he asked her, his nose still firmly buried in the kit's thin fur.
OOC: I'll get that pic done as soon as possible and send you the link. By the way, what do you think of two toms and one she-cat for the genders?

((It's only fair, since I thought the number and time. ^^))
Snowstripe bent down, licking each tiny head with thrilled feelings. Some was worry... How would she be as a first time mother? Some was excitement.. It flourished through her body like blood. That, and the determination and motherly instincts that was wired the moment they were conceived. Her tail flicked against her mates flanks and she looked up at Brindlepaw, moving her paw from the last's body so she could see her proud deed.
The moment their eyes are opened and they can see the world.. It is then that we shall name them.

Dragonpelt nuzzled her neck and then laid his head down among his kits again. A loud, rumbling purr erupted from his belly and into his throat. He close his eyes pleasantly and thought of all the possible names they could give the kits.

One of the new members: Silverwhisker, walked into the den. He looked around. "What's going on?" he asked quietly. The old tom quickly spotted the Kits. "Ah, how lovely!" he whispered happily. "Editions to the Clan! Perhaps it will fill up once again someday." The parents, ah, what a happy couple they seemed to be.

Indeed... She said warily. She didn't know this cat, despite being the former deputy (and soon to be again). But then again, Featherstar wouldn't have welcomed an untrusting cat into the clan, especially not near the nursing den had there been problems. So, she raised her head to reveal three soft bundles of downy fur at her side.

Silverwhisker looked up, surprised. "Oh, I'm...I'm sorry m'lady... I'm sorry for...sorry for my rudeness..." The tom bowed to the couple. "The names Silverwhisker, one of the newest Warriors in StoneClan." He sat down, "And whom may I be in the presence of?"

Brindlepaw had been watching the tiny squriming bundles, not noticing the new cat. But as he asked who they were, she could not suppress her nature anymore. She stood and made it so she had an air of importance, holding her head up and tail making long, slow sweeps through the air, her signature half-closed eyes.
I, She smiled and took a few steps in a semi-circle, Am Brindlepaw. StoneClan's most skilled apprentice.

Silverwhisker patted the Apprentice on the head with his paw. "Don't get your chest all puffed out, sweetheart," he said like a father would say to his daughter, "I've heared of a Bristlepaw, tough little kitty she is," he added, with a sort of mocking tone in his voice.

Puh! I ain't no sweetheart!
She swatted his paw away to prove her point, she wouldn't be silenced so easily.
And I bet I'm twice as tough.
She now wished that she could maybe have a sparring match with this Bristlepaw. Show how tough she was. It would all be in good fun of course.

The ashen she-cat smiled as her apprentice challenged against the newcomer. As much as a daughter Brindlepaw was to her, she had to cover for her fiery personality as well. You'll have to excuse my young apprentice here. She has the tendency to feel she can take on the world, especially to the new comers. She gave Brindlepaw a lick between the ears.

Dragonpelt lifted his head and batted Brindlepaw's ears with his paw. His short tail twitched pleasantly behind him, his body firmly curved around his mate and kits.
"That new cat bothers me..." he whispered in Snowstripe's ear. "He should know that only cats we choose are allowed to enter the den so soon after the babies are born..." His eyes were fixed warily on the stranger, though he allowed Brindlepaw as close as she wished.

He nodded to the she-cat, silently taking the apology. He sat down, his tail swishing with delight as he watched Brindlepaw and the new Kits. He hadn't heard what Dragonpelt had said, he was too deep in his own ocean of thoughts.

((Don't worry, Warfox isn't stepping a foot into that den. I promise.))
Warfox saw one of the other new cats go trotting into a nursery den different from the one everyone had been in with Blindsong and her kits ((because I don't now how else to put that, I assumed it was a bit off the main one or something.)) and tipped his ears back for a moment. He could see no reason why exactly the cat should be going there, as he was new- Warfox didn't know who was in that den, but since this other cat was also new, Warfox doubted very much that he'd been asked to come see the kits. Which meant, whether the other cat knew it or not, he was bending all kinds of etiquette rules. Not that Warfox exactly blamed the cat- he was new, that was all. They'd had the same rules in all the clans Warfox had ever heard of, but he'd heard of several other clans, and he knew not every one else had.
Standing well clear of the entrance so he would not, hopefully, be breaking etiquette any more than he had to, he cleared his throat bit nervously.
"'Scuse me, er... uh, sir. You, the one who just wandered in to there. I think we're needing more food, as we've seemed to gain a few more members than we have food right now. And since you seem equally uninterested in what's going on out there with the newcomers and all, would you care to come hunting? I don't think one cat can quite do it, much as it wounds my pride to say so," he meowed as quietly as he could and still be heard. He really didn't want to disturb everyone in the den, but he also very badly wanted whoever had kits in there to have some privacy if they wanted it.
And they really /did/ need more food, from his estimation. Even if the other cat said no, Warfox was going to leave and go hunting anyway- it'd have the added bonus of avoiding some of the chaos going on out there.

Silverwhisker turned around, brought up out of his thoughts of childhood. "Uh..er...sure," he stumbled, standing up. He turned back to the cats he was talking to, "Uh...bye...nice talking to you. Take care Brindlepaw." He nodded his last goodbyes, and trotted out of the den nervously. He hoped he hadn't seem rude, leaving the company of other cats so suddenly.
Ooc: I've left the board, Warfox, you can create the next one.
