Silverwhisker quivered, but eventually sat up straight again, his love's words comforting him and seeing that the dog was being controled by an Apprentice!?!

“Jadepaw!”

Giving Silverwhisker’s shoulder one last nudge, the pure white she-cat moved to her apprentice; a smile adorning her muzzle.

“Come with me; I wish to show you the medicine cat den.”

There was much there to show the young she-cat; even teach her about some of the herbs. Later, she would take her out and show her where exactly said herbs grew.

She sighed, giving him a playful nudge. I don't WANT to be away from the youngs for so long, but I had to come out and congratulate my former apprentice. She looked fondly to Brindleflame, then turned and began to retreat back to her den, keeping a wary eye on the dog that appeared to be roaming around camp.

Yes, Valorpaw may come see the kits, as any cat may now enter the den upon my permission. She flicked her tail dismissively. Valorpaw is welcome in the nursing den. And with that, she gave her mate an adoring smile and exited the camp into her den to calm her whining kitlings.

Jadepaw quickly snapped her attention to her mentor.
She gave a tiny squeak of excitement; grinning as well.
She nodded her head in a swift movement and stood;
Yes ma'am.
she replied as she looked behind her and nodded a goodbye to Oaksnout before scampering towards Chainless.
An expectant, yet patient look in her jade eyes.

Chainless waved her tail in the air in farewell to the others; before her two-toned eyed looked down at Jadepaw.

“Tell me; what do you know of herbs?”

Excitement of the gathering and all over, Pinedark stood and stretched, then shook to settle her fur back down. She only blinked at the howling puppy, and grinned just slightly.

Was she supposed to feel different, since she was a warrior? That was like being an adult instead of a youngster, wasn't it?

She flicked her tail contemplatively for a moment. She didn't /feel/ any different. She certainly didn't look any different.

Her tail twitched one more time, and she turned and looked at her old mentor. Head tilted to the side, she considered him for a moment.

Then she bounced forward, aiming to tackle him. Maybe she was an adult- but it didn't mean she couldn't tackle Loveless![/size]

Pinedark’s tackle caught the black and white tom by surprise; sending him rolling to find himself pinned to the ground by her. Yellow hues blinked; giving her a quizzical expression.

Then he purred; a rasping, low sound, and gently rubbed his head against her.

As if he finally realized what he was doing; Loveless pulled away quickly; startled. What had he been doing?

Expression affection towards the one he loved; yes. But that in and of itself was painful.

[Pinedark]

Pinedark purred back at Loveless, batting gently at his head with a paw. He pulled away, and she pulled her paw back towards her face. She studied it for a second. Had she mistakenly not had her claws sheathed?

Her eyes flicked towards him in concern for a moment.

"'S wrong?" she chirped at him. It suddenly seemed very important Loveless not be sad. Well... maybe not /suddenly/ if she was being strictly honest. But what had changed in the past half hour that had caused her to even consider this thought fr more than a passing moment?

Maybe not being an apprentice anymore did change things.[/size]

[Loveless]

“Pinedark…”

There was a sudden emotion deepening those yellow hues; as they stared into the young she-cat’s. Something so powerful; so unfathomable, it was hard to understand.

“It’s…nothing.”

Things had changed so greatly now; and the tom was amazed at the strength and conviction he felt in the matter.

But did Pinedark sense it to? Was this mutual?

[Pinedark]

"It's nothing, and I am... One of those horrible Boneclan cats," Pinedark replied very practically to Loveless. A moment's grin flicked across her face. Her friend had the oddest name. Loveless. But he wasn't unloved- without love, as that name implied.

She chirp-purred at him, and rubbed her head against his shoulder. She liked being around Loveless. He made her happy. Around others, she was still shy- not so much around Loveless anymore.

Yeah, she'd noticed that way he looked at her. She was simply returning the affection in the only way she knew- not with words, or even a glance, but in the way she acted.

Or did you really think she'd just up and tackle any old cat? Maybe bowl into them for fun, to knock them down. But she was a bit shy for all out tackling of other cats. Mostly.[/size]

[Loveless]

Loveless laughed at that.

“If you’re from Boneclan, than I’m a mouse. Squeak squeak!”

As she rubbed against him he purred, none too quietly either. But that was Loveless. Not really quiet.

Although he had changed a lot since the day he had wandered onto Stoneclan’s territory; a lonely, terribly-singing tom without a purpose.

But he had a purpose.
A clan to fight for and protect.
Pinedark to fight for and protect.

"You would be a very funny looking mouse, I think, so it all probably works out better that you're not," Pinedark laughed.

"And I wouldn't want to be a Boneclan kitty, either," she added as an afterthought. She purred back at Loveless, but you could hardly hear her purr. She chuckled.

"Doesn't that make your bones rattle, purring away like that?"[/size]

[Loveless]

“I know; I’d be killed and eaten right away. Bit to big to be hiding in holes; you know.”

He laughed; ears flicking at the image of what he had said.
Then she commented about his purr; and he gasped; looking at her like she had offended him.

“What? There’s somethin’ wrong with my purr?”

And then the expression vanished; and he cracked up once again.

"No, I was merely observing that it's very loud," Pinedark replied. She redoubled her efforts at a louder purr, and still failed to be as loud as Loveless. Even her purr seemed shy!

"See?" she asked, also laughing as she finally managed to purr almost enough to rattle her bones.[/size]

[Loveless]

“Geez; I’m really that loud?”

His own laughter doubled out; as he joined Pinedark after her final attempt.
He lightly head butted her from his position; a paw lightly tapping her lightly.

‘Want to go out hunting? Maybe a patrol; to celebrate your warriorship?”

"Sure!" she answered Loveless, "Do you think we need to go hunting, or is there enough food over there?" She glanced to the freshkill pile. Pinedark wasn't the greatest judge of whether or not there was always enough food...[/size]

The food pile was moderately full, but hey, anything they could add would be great. Loveless nudge her side as he finally stood up, moving so to walk beside her.

“Let’s do both!”

A patrol of the borders, and they could bring back anything they caught on the way. Sounded like the perfect plan to the silly black and white tom’s ears.

Pinedark grinned at Loveless. She took a couple of bounding steps towards the edge of the camp. Then she turned and looked at Loveless, tailtip flipping down by her back paw. Turning back around, she left the camp, bouncing like a kit after dandelion fuzz.

“Hey; get back here!!!”

Loveless yowled playfully, tail flicking a few times as the black and white tom bounded after her; a laugh rippling from his throat. Ah, this was the life. Truly a sight better than those days he’d lived as a rogue.

…but those were not memories he wished to dwell on, especially here and now.

“Wait for me!”
