She'd hardly have been noticed when she stalked up to the rock where her old Clan Leader always made the announcements. She'd hardly even been noticed at all in the clan, as beautiful as she was. It was her grace, if not her silky but shaggy amber-red coat that gave her existance away. She sat down upon the solid stone, her long tail overlapping her tiny paws in a dignified manner.
She sighed, ears flicking in a paranoid fashion. She'd meant to make a bit more of a noticeable entrance, but she shrugged the thought away like a bothersome fly. She gazed over the cats, keeping keen to how her appearance wat. After all, she was their new leaders. Let this announcement be heard by all cats, senior or kit! She yowled, her voice soft but sharp. It was how she lived her life. After the departure of our old Clan Leader Oakstar, I have been appointed the new clan leader. I will, rest assured, do my duty as a leader and protect and defend this clan like a mother to her kits. She looked about the cats, the tip of her tail flicking. I will not fail you as a leader. She finished her announcement with that simple remark, hoping to clear away some doubts the other cats may have had.
If she sounded a bit caught up in herself for her 'speech', she didn't notice. Her nervousness was hidden by her sharp eyes and calm expression. Her ears quirked forward, listening to those who might want or need to comment on such a huge announcement.

Maplepaw timidly turned his attention to the beautiful new cat that had been appointed their leader by Starclan. She did indeed seem to fit the ideal role of clan leader, even if she was a bit nervous. He tilted his head and smiled.

The long haired tom looked to the dainty cat perched upon the rock. He quirked his head forward. A new leader? He smiled to himself. Ah, yes. Goldenblaze'd seen this cat briefly around Treeclan. She'd make a good leader.. He thought to himself, bowing his head in acceptance to the leader.((Haha! I'm RPing with myself. Both Goldenblaze and Amberstar are my own. ))

She looked alarmed as a nearby cat dashed in and whispered in her ear, looking frantic. She turned to her clan. Cats! There is an intrusion on our borders!! Those warriors fiercest will accompany me. She leapt down, not sure what to do. She'd recalled Oakstar looking frantic one afternoon, muttering to herself how little members they had. And it was true. She darted out, amber fur brushing back through the wind
Goldenblaze looked alarmed. Cats? At our boundaries? It was his duty to serve his clan, and that was just what he was to do as he sprinted after his leader, eyes enraged.
((Ish too lazy to keep going back and forth, so Goldenblaze will be adopted on this account for the time being since he's one of the only warriors. o-o))

'Twas later that night when she arrived back at the camp, tail held high as she strutted in. Amberstar was covered in many a cut and gash, from a harsh battle at the boundaries with some rogue cats claiming to be 'Clan cats'. Hmph.. At least we showed them a lesson on coming around Treeclan territory. Where was Goldenblaze, anyways? She peered over her shoulder and shrugged. 'Prolly just getting a midnight snack or something..' She said, casting a worried look out the entrance. She turned away and high tailed to the Leader's quarters, purring as she lay down.
She opened an eye, thinking. 'Those cats were fierce, however. I'm surprised at how mangled poor Goldenblaze was when he came out of that fight.' She continued her fierce mental battle. 'And they think they can come again? Hah, I'd like to see them try.' She curled up and closed her eyes, ears keen for any noises.

"Too much, too fast maybe. I don't know where my destiny's taking me. So I'll go where ever it leads me. Too high, too low baby. I don't know where my destiny's taking me. So I'll go to make you believe me."
The older tabby tom trotted into the clearing with a hop in his step, singing as usual. His whiskers twitched however, distracting him from his song. He paused in his tracks, nose held high in the air and nose twitching. A new scent? And doused in the sent of StarClan? The Medicine Cat frowned, carrying further into camp.
"My my my, looks like trouble."
He gave a small smile, realising his entrance was rather late. This cat... was the new leader? And she seemed to have already had a recent battle. The medicine cat walked up to her, giving a small nod of his tabby head before speaking once more.
"Madame... needs herbs?"

She exited from her den calmly, looking a bit more rested than before. Ah, treeclan's medicine cat! She said gently, tail flicking and bowing her head in response to the medicine tom. Yes please.. Just something to dull the pain and help heal the wounds. She said kindly, tail flicking gently. She nodded her head once more and reached down to lick the dried and matted blood on her flanks.

"Eatbugs at your service, morning, day and night! Just gimme a call, I'll be hop skip and bouncing to overhaul your every problem!"
And hop, skip and bounce he did. The lively old tom skipped off to his den where all the herbs were kept, whistling an unknown tune and whiskers twitching in time with it. It was hard to tell he had arthritis really, apart from every now and then when his joints would seize up and his skipping was made to go a little wobbly.
A moment later, the tom returned with a group of herbs in his jaw, walking with his tail in the air. He may hardly know this new leader, but it was his duty to serve her, and serve her he will! Eatbugs could adapt to change, and hoped good things for TreeClan with a new young leader. He placed the herbs on the ground, just overlooking that he had everything.
Valerian for treating wounds. Vervain as pain relief. Yellow Dock to cleanse those wounds. And finally! Lemon Melissa - a little treat for the new leader to help her sleep better and let her relax.
"Here. Grit your teeth as this might hurt a little at first."
He said simply as he crushed the herbs - aside from Lemon Melissa - into a mixture, using the dew from a leaf to make it into that kind of sludge. He applied it to all the necessary wounds with careful, caring paws, making sure not to press too hard but hard enough for it to sink into the wound. Hopefully soon the pain would die down and the wounds would heal quicker than if left on there own.
"And finally! The Eatbugs service offers you a small dose of Lemon Melissa to help you relax on your first day as clan leader, and get a good nights sleep. Here, just chew thoroughly then swallow."
The tom pushed the herbs infront of her like she were a kit who refused to take it's medicine, and he grinned, sitting down and flicking his tail over his paws, still slightly damp with the paste he'd used for the wounds.

She raised her head as he once again approached, and she turned to reveal the deep gashes. He stiffled a loud hiss as he tended to her wounds, but she couldn't help let a chuckle escape her lips as he hummed and danced to himself. With entertainment as one good plus, there was another; he was a talent to his name as a medicine cat, and was very on task with his job. She liked that, and she couldn't help but give credit as the pain already began to subside. Thank you, Eatbugs. Again, she couldn't help but stiffle a laugh at the name. How much she enjoyed this cat, he had one of the most interesting name's she'd heard yet. She kindly smiled to him and dipped her head in gratitude to him, tail flipping.

Maplepaw was taken aback. His new leader had announced suddenly that there were strange cats at the border, and suddenly he had been alone. Someone must have said, "Stay here,". Perhaps it had been Starclan, or meerely his inner concious. He knew that he couldn't fight worth anything.
Then, later that night, Amberstar had returned, but without his only "friend", Goldenblaze. And now Eatbugs, the medicine cat was around. He stood looking akward for a few moments.

Amberstar once more leapt to the rock, tail swishing gracefully once more over the cold stone. Cats of Treeclan! She yowled from her usual spot, gazing over the cats. The dangers have passed, and the rougue cats have been chased away. She looked crestfalled as she revealed the last part. And Goldenblaze has not yet returned. I'll keep an eye out for him, and patrols do the same. She sighed and leapt down, nodding gently to young Maplepaw before approaching her. How old are you, Maplepaw? She said gently, leaning back on her flanks.

The old black tom yawned, Amberstar’s voice having woken Blackheart from his brief nap. Even he needed a break ever now and again. He stood up, stretching, and then lightly picked his way towards her and what looked to be a young kit or apprentice. Well…a young whippersnapper to him.
“Trouble?’
He flattened his ears, then eyed the one Amberstar was speaking to; almost telling the young one to ‘beat it’. But no, not while Amberstar was there – she had to be talking to the young whippersnapper for a reason.

She looked up at the new warrior courteously, bowing her head in greeting. No, no trouble at all. She's not in trouble. She looked down at her. I was wondering how old she was, so she could be apprenticed. She looked back up at Blackheart, kind gold eyes scanning him. That is, if she does not already have one.

“Ch. If the kit needs a mentor, I guess I could always break him in.”
The last words were said with a roguish grin on the older black tom’s face. He could have an odd streak of humor sometimes.
But honestly, Blackheart didn’t mind the apprentices, especially after they got to know him and could figure out how to work around his moods. Back in his old clan he had mentored many, saw them to become great warriors, and had always felt pride in them. And then there was Crimsonsteel, the best apprentice he ever had…and the downfall of the entire clan.
“Then again, I’m sure the young one wants someone else to be his mentor, not an old battered one like me.”

She looked at him thoughtfully, a smile crossing her lips. She herself was considering being her mentor, but as a new leader she needed as much time to get into her stride. Fine then, Blackheart? You will mentor young Maplepaw. Besides.. She looked down fondly at the young kit. We have no 'dashing young toms' in our clan at the current moment. I'm sure she'll not mind you being her mentor? She directed this last question at Maplepaw, tail flicking through the dirt expectantly.

Blackheart yawned again, tail tip twitching as he watched the two cats. Amberstar was doing quite a good job so far, and he felt a prickle of pride...as if the she-cat was his own daughter.
Now that stirred up some painful memories. He had a daughter...once. But the little kit was probably dead now - knowing how her mother was.
Yellow eyes fell again on the younger of the two cats with consideration. Young, yes, but like all apprentices, he had the potiential to go far. And as his duty to his clan, Blackheart would teach him everything he knew and then some.

If it is okay with you both, I will make the announcements come a later time. She said gently, looking at Blackheart from the corner of her eye. Her ears flicked in concern for him as his eyes flashed back painfully. She knew whatever he went through, it must have had to be hard.
((I don't know! Interesting.. Interesting.. But I just realized.. The cat Blackheart is more or less replacing is soon to be his daughters stepdad, and ex-mates new mate. o-o))

[Soap opera with cats! w00t! ]"Fine by me."
Blackheart grumped softly, he trusted in his leader's decision, so it truly was fine by him. He just grumped because he was that way. Yellow hues looked alarmed at the concerned look Amberstar was giving him, and he flattened his ears slightly. 'I'll tell you at a later time.' was what his eyes told her. Not there, not with the ears of a young one.

(woah, that whole sentence completely confused me amberstar xDD)
The tom courteously(sp?) bowed, tucking one paw underneath him as the other was outstretched. His tail lifted high in the air, and it was a moment before Eatbugs stood up properly after his bow. A smile was palced on his maw, scruffy whiskers twitching.
"Anytime, new leader of TreeClan."
He grinned, about to stand and leave to find a puddle where he could clean his paws from the paste. But then...
"Egads! A kitten! Stay back, foul beast of the treacherous seas of treachery!"
The old tom babbled, hackles raised and trying not to hiss. If you hadn't guessed, Eatbugs isn't a fan of apprentices, and despised it when they were asked to come and help gather herbs for him. Like he couldn't do it himself! He tried to stifle a growl which rumbled in his throat. He turned his head as he heard the sound of another cat, letting his hackles lower as he noticed it wasn't another apprentice, but an old warrior. The medicine cat tried to sit down, shuffling a little further away from the apprentice. Foul thing. =P

She dipped her head once more to the old medicine cat, turning her head away to lick at her flanks. She'd only smoothed out and inch or so when Eatbugs yowled, and she snapped her head up in alarm. A kit? What was wrong with Maplepaw? She narrowed her eyes in confusion. What appears to be the problem, Eatbugs? Yes, a kitten. One of Treeclan's apprentices. She quirked her head forward, tilting her head to look at the silver grey cat. Surely you do not have a problem with this apprentice? She asked kindly. It was courteous, simply stating a question. It confused her. And he was so nice to her a minute ago.. What was his problem with the kitten?
