[*laughs* It’s not a problem. ^^]
Twitch.
The very moment Ripplepaw tapped the bundle of fur a low hiss escaped it. Bright orange hues, cold and angry, opened to glare at her, ears flattened as far against his head as they could go.
The poor kit was in a terrible state – but the fire of a fighter was the one thing that kept his weakened body alive. He wouldn’t quite. He wouldn’t let her win.
That fiery gaze lifted so to meet the gaze of the apprentice who had tapped him, drawing him struggling back into the waking world. He struggled with another hiss, trying to rise to his paws but incapable of it.

"Gah!" Ripplepaw leaped back as the small kit hiiiiiissed. Woah. She crouched down and stared at it at eye level. "You're a fierce little kit," she remarked, and straightened back up. "But starved." She bounded over to the small freshkill pile and picked up a mouse before returning to Murderkit and dropped it in front of him. "C'mon, eat up," she mewed.

The hiss died to a discontent grumble, as he watched the she-cat bound off.
But then she returned, with food! His little belly grumbled, longing for the freshkill that she had dropped before him.
Longing.
He didn’t like that sensation. With a defiant turn of his head he looked away from the food, the orange orbs staring intently at the ground. Even though he would die if he didn’t eat, he was just too damn stubborn to give in just yet.

If Ripplepaw was an anime human, she would have sweat-dropped. The kit was obviously starving. But then... Ohyeah, she had an idea. She dashed off to the entrance of the Grass Field, and chased a mouse back over to the waterfall. The mouse squeaked and chattered as it dodged the pursuing cat. Normally, it wouldn't last very long with Ripplepaw after it, after her four moons of practice when she was a loner, but the she-cat feigned a lack of hunting skills, to try to persuade the kit to eat. She hoped her plan worked, as it neared to loud foaming torrent of water. If not, there'd be a seriously drowned mouse. A sopping wet one, too.

Squeak?
Twitch.
The little tom stirred, orange gaze lifting in curiosity. He ignored the already dead, still corpse of the mouse the she-cat had brought him, instead focusing on the vibrant, living sound and scent heading towards him.
Pain. Weakness gripped him as he finally gathered his weakened form beneath him, rising up to move towards the waterfall.
A mouse.
A living mouse.
He crouched, leapt through the waterfall the exact moment the mouse froze in from of it, claws out. There was a final squeal as he landed directly on the furry creature, succeeding to snuff its life out. Then his little fangs burying into fresh flesh, and he hungrily tore into the small prey.

Streampaw's ears pricked up as she heard her new mentor's name. She bowed her head and waited to touch noses with Doubleheart. "Wow! I finally get to be a clan cat again!" she mewed inside her head.

Bristlepaw squealed with delight and turned to her new mentor, Wishclaw. Lillystar had made a wonderful choice! With many other cats, the large young cat would have been too shy to do much, but with Wishclaw for a mentor, they could train and have fun at the same time!
"Wishclaw, did you hear that? I'm your apprentice!"
A few more squeals escaped her mouth, but she didn't try to stop them. All she did was prance in circles...very uncharacteristic of Bristlepaw. Purring, her gray eyes glittering with happiness, she sat and turned back to Wishclaw.
"Are you tired? When can we train? I'm a bit tired, so we can train tomorrow, if you're up to it."

Andromeda? Who was this Andromeda? Glancing around at all of the unfamiliar faces, any of them could be Andromeda. She turned to a random apprentice with long, silvery tabby fur[Ripplepaw, but Nyria doesn't know].
"Who's Andromeda?"
Nyria's voice was but a whisper, and she didn't look directly at the apprentice. But as she waited for the answer, she looked up to Lillystar. The leader looked like she wanted confirmation...
"Thank you, Lillystar!"
Amara purred. Battledream...she guessed that Battledream was the huge she-cat over there, being happy and accepting her as an apprentice. The giant seemed to be a wonderful warrior, and Amara only hoped that she could be a worthy apprentice.
"Thank you, Lillystar."

Andromeda grinned as it was announced she'd have an apprentice. This, she hadn't been expecting. But she didn't mind! She looked around, trying to figure out which of the new cats that'd been introduced was Nyria. In looking, she saw one of the newcomers whisper to... Battledream, she thought the other cat was. She couldn't exactly hear what the other cat was saying, but she thought she recognized her name. She padded over and meowed softly to get Nyria's (well, she hoped this was Nyria, otherwise she'd be made the fool) attention.
"I'm Andromeda, and... I bet you're Nyria" she said, and then added, "It'd seem we're both newcomers."

Giddykit...er...Giddypaw, jumped around happily. He finally walked up to Lillystar and smiled at her. "Thank you so much Lillystar, for making me your Apprentice!" He touched noses with her in respect and bounded off to talk to and celebrate with his love, Ripplepaw. "Ripplepaw! Ripplepaw! Look! Look! I'm an Apprentice now! I'm an Apprentice now!"

"OMIGOSH sqweee!"
She laughed, at hearing who her apprentice was, heck, that she even got an apprentice. But, again, who it was.
"Yes, I did hear!"
The snow bengal purred, looking blissful and amused. She then listened to her new apprentices words with a smile.
"We shall train tomorrow. We didn't get much sleep.. Didn't we?"
She shot a glare at Giddypaw and Streampaw.
"But don't think its going to be all fun an-- Wait, yes it is. WE SHALL LEARN AND HAVE FUN."
She beamed, and begain to pad towords Bristlepaw to touch noses, but then she winked and whispered.
"And remember, the meaning to life is 42." [/size]

OoC: Nonono, the meaning to life is THIRTY-THREE. D:
Ripplepaw smiled down at the famished kit eagerly tearing into the mouse. Woohoo, her plan worked. Hearing one of the newcomers ask her a question, she looked up, but Nyria didn't seem to need an answer anymore after Andromedra came to introduce herself to her apprentice. Ripplepaw picked up the untouched mouse carcass and carried it away to eat it, when Giddypaw came bouncing over. "Oh yay, that's great!" She grinned excitedly at her newly-apprenticed crush. "And to the clan leader too!" But where was Rustpaw? Ripplepaw sighed and shook her head, her smile fading. She yawned. "Gah, I think that short nap I took just now wasn't enough. I'm off to the Apprentice Den to sleep." She turned tail and padded off towards the small cave in the wall and plonked down to have a proper rest."
OoC: And it's mah last post for the year 2006! See ya, guys! :'3

OOC : droplettt, do you actually have a profile for streamkit? id like to read up on her but i cant seem to find your profile, so i dont know anything about her P:
[ if i should die within this hour ]
A sense of pride began to swell in Doubleheart's chest as Lillystar appointed him mentor - to a kit named Streampaw. He nodded lightly, a smile furling at the corners of his mouth as he then broke his gaze from his leader and turned to find his apprentice, casting his eyes over the gathering of cats to find the younger one.
He spotted her a few moments later - she was bowing her head respectively and awaiting his arrival to seal the thing. Getting to his paws, Double made his way over to his new apprentice, wondering faintly what she would have in store for him (for afterall, apprentiship was as much an adventure for the mentor as the apprentice), as he didnt recognise the kit and had never spoken with her before.
Mewing kindly, he stopped at her side, and grinned down at her kindly, before lowering his head toward her face and touching her nose with a slight purr. Through his peripherals he caought site of another young cat shooting a glare at Streampaw, and he narrowed his eyes momentarily but soon dismissed the emotions. He did now know these youngsters and nor did he understand their buisness; the other could well be kidding around.

Lillystar watched her cats with admiration glowing in her eyes. She was happy that everything was finally under control and now all the kits could get the training that they needed and deserved. The only thing she seemed to still need was a deputy. Having one would make running this clan loads easier... she thought, a little sadly. For whatever reason her thoughts strayed to Shadowstreak, who she knew was out training her apprentice at this very moment. Perhaps she would be a good candidate...Wishclaw is also a very loyal cat, but I'd like her to devote some serious time with Bristle...perhaps Doubleheart... she mulled all of the possibilities over in her mind. I'll have to bring it up soon...but later, once they all have a chance to lead normal lives for a time...that gathering just threw the whole forest out of whack...

Trillium watched her apprentice, interested in the feat she had performed to make the new kit eat. She was about to speak with the grey and white she-cat about possible training, but Ripplekit suddenly slipped off to the apprentice den.
Trill's ears twitched in a mix of annoyance and worry. What would happen if her apprentice had not received proper training? Shrugging off those thoughts, she turned to observe the rest of the clan, with the new apprentices and mentors.
A small kit caught her attention. "Some other kits were just apprenticed, young one," she said, simply, with a warm smile.

Lillystar leaped down from the great rock and stretched her stiff muscles. The bitter cold made it hard to stay limber and she shivered even under her thick, long coat. Suddenly a white flake alighted on her nose and she sneezed involuntarily, scattering it. She peered up at the gray sky and was amazed to see a whole mess of the white flakes falling down around them. The first snow of leaf-bare had already started! Now I'll really need a deputy to keep things under control...she thought.
"Everyone we can spare needs to hunt!" she called to her cats. "This snow porves that this will be a harsh leaf-bare and we'll need to find all the prey we can before it becomes too deep!" She relayed her orders and was about to creep into her warm den to get some more sleep, when she noticed two newcomers in the camp. Walking over she noticed Ringkit, a rogue that she had met on the borders and allowed to come into the camp when she felt ready. The other kit was completely new to her and his flaming pelt stood out like cinders in the snow. She approaced the rogue kit and took a good look at him.
"Now who is this?" she asked, peering down at the skinny little scrap.

"hi lilystar! it's good to see a femiler face!" after lisening for some time she padded off toward one den that she think was called the apprentic den.
