It's my party, I can cry if I want to
What's this?
Water.
Ooh. Water.
I like water.
Of course, who didn't? Water = life, it was rumored.
Juukai trotted across the boundries, quite cheerfully for a cat about to join a Clan. She was bored, you see. She was lonely and tired of having no one to show her fire to. She carried -rather delicately, I might add- a small object of the twoleg persuasion: a matchbook, indecipherable human heiroglyphics printed on one side. An odd object for a cat to carry, eh?
She lifted her head, scenting the clean, fresh winter air. The roar of the falls was muted and distant, but there nontheless.
I'm thirsty.
She set her matchbook down and glanced around, her wide eyes, eyes the color of fire, inspecting the terrain. A chill winter breeze buffeted her, but her thick gray fur shut out the cold. A few burn scars marked her pelt, but besides those -and her striking red-orange eyes- she was featurless, just a broad-shouldered and slightly stocky she-cat with dense, plain fur. "Hello, MistClan!" she sang out.
You would cry too if it happened to you

A flash of white fur, emblazoned with saffron and ginger. Flowers bloomed across her back, gold dust in her eyes. Lillystar leapt swiftly from rock to rock, scouting the territory around the river. Noticing the cat sitting on her borders, she slowed and crept down to her.
"Who are you stranger...and what brings you here?" she asked. Her nose picked up a strange, acrid scent and it was then that she noticed the strange box that came with this cat.

Juukai whirled to face the multicolored cat, her eyes dancing like flame.
She was silent for a disconcerting moment, then she suddenly yelped flamboyantly, "Hel-l-o-o-o-o, MistClanner! How are you on this lovely afternoon?"
She seemed...friendly. Very friendly. Almost unnatrually friendly.
Juukai bounced closer to Lillystar; she seemed like a clumsy kit just then, and it was a laughable look.
It would take an insightful cat indeed to see the intelligence and clarity in her flashing eyes.
Glancing around, she meowed brightly, "I'm thirsty. Where's the water?"
You would cry too if it happened to you

The stranger bounded toward her and Lillystar pulled her head back a little, startled by her enthusiasm. She wasn't entirely surprised that this rogue knew what territory she was on, but the strange twoleg box didn't sit well with her.
"There's water all around you...the river for instance..." she replied, gesturing to it with her long tail. "What brings you here?" she added.

Fire, fire, pants on FIRE
Juukai chuckled, as if Lillystar were making a joke. "I'm here to see if I can join your Clan, 'o course!"
She glanced in the direction of the falls, seemed about to ask something; then her eyes flashed in a slightly unsettling way and she went off onto an entirely different tanget.
"Want to see my matches?" she asked enthusiastically. Without pausing for an answer, she flipped the matchbook open with a practiced claw and plucked a single thin stick from the pack.
Clutching it delicately in her teeth, she bounced to a tree truck, inclined her head to Lillystar -'Watch!'- and struck the match with a flourish.
Instantly, a bright winking firelight appeared at the tip of the match. The burning smell increased. Juukai laughed delightedly and dropped the match.
The fire flared up in a brilliant yelloworange spot on the grass, crackling and shivering. Heat rippled outward.

OOC: Why do I get all the crazy cats? *gestures at Wishclaw, October, Thistle, Juukai...* XD Lillystar yowled in surprise and a little bit of fear. Even though her clan was safe from fire behind the waterfall, she didn't want the rest of the territory catching. She ran toward the flames and quickly kicked dirt over them.
"Please, you can't do such things in the middle of a forest!" she exclaimed. "The trees will burn and the prey will scatter!"

Fire, fire, pants on FIRE
Juukai flashed Lillystar a sullen glare with her flame colored eyes. "Don't speak to me like a bad kit!" she said, scowling and taking a slightly aggresive step forward. "I know what I'm doing! I'm not a halfwit!"
Her fur was bristling. You mess with the fire and you mess with Juukai.
"You fear the fire because you don't understand it! But I do! I know how it moves and what it eats and what it fears! I know how to summon it and how to make it go away!"
Then, all at once, she calmed. what could be described as an indulgent smirk came to her face. "You can travel all around this territory and you'll never meet a cat who knows as much about twolegs as me!" Her voice was proud.
She chewed absently on the matchstick, smelling the burnt sulfer-stench and relishing it.

Lillystar calmed down ever so slightly. She wasn't so sure about this cat, but it was a given that there wasn't much for her to set ablaze in their mostly stone camp.
"I fear fire just like any cat would..." she said, defending her actions. "You can join MistClan, if you promise to always keep those twoleg sticks under control..." Her tone was calm, but there was a warning gleam in her eyes.

Fire, fire, pants on FIRE
"Why would I not?" Juukai asked, as if offended.
She closed the matchbook lovingly and scooped it closer to her, like it was her kit. "I have a bunch more of these at my den in the Rogue Meadow," she informed the leader cheerfully.

Lillystar shuddered at the thought of more twoleg things being inside the camp. Although if this cat wanted to be a loyal clan member, she would have to stop messing with twolegs.
"I don't mean to offend you, but if you join MistClan then you must not go anywhere near twolegs anymore, it could easily endanger the entire clan!" she said. "Can you promise me that you will not go sneaking off to get more of those sticks and stay true to this clan?" She didn't want to hurt the she-cat's feelings. These were questions she felt she had to ask for the safety of her Clanmates.

OOC: Just thought I'd drop in. I've always wanted him to meet Juukai. ;D. Plus I need to post as him somewhere. You, Lillystar, may just get another crazy kitty... Ahh.....
Why? came a voice from the shadows. The Mad King Binx had been doing reconnaissance, on this foreign kingdom. And look, a pretty maid! Fire.... a nice quality, he thought. He chuckled quietly. He addressed what he thought of as a "fellow" leader. But he was groundless, he knew, stripped of his kingdom. But ah, the memories... She seems proficient at it, and those matches are an extremely valuable asset. Binx smiled. I could get them, if you preferred. I have much experience with the Twolegs. He gave a churring laugh. I could be a valuable asset too.

You're crazy.
Juukai glanced at Binx and fixed him in her firey-colored stare for a moment. Then she flashed him a crazy, happy grin that showed every one of her teeth.
"I have plenty of matches," she meowed, almost randomly. "I won't need to return to the twoleg's places for more for...maybe years yet."
But most of Juukai's attention was still on the odd tom; she could see something in his eyes that she felt often in hers, though she had no name for it.
Most call it insanity.
The smile slinked back, this time smaller and slightly more unsettling.
...I like that in a cat.

Ahh.....
Binx pulled another churr-laugh. He liked her smile, this she-cat. And she had the most beautiful eyes... Ahh, my dear, but I am devastated that I cannot perform a service for you. The pint-sized tuxedo cat flashed a sharp-fanged smile. Would you maybe have something else in mind? For the Good Lord Binx will always be ready to serve a lovely lady such as yourself.

Lillystar was a little irritated at this tom's intrusion. She was trying to get a straight answer out of the fire-loving cat and didn't need his interference.
"Please sir...don't encourage the fire bit..." she said, mutedly. "I suppose you could both come to MistClan...if you wish...but you must promise to never use those 'matches' against or near any of my cats..." Again her tone was level, but a warning glance told them to be careful.

You're crazy.
Juukai threw Lillystar a confused look. "Why would I use fire on my own Clan?" she meowed, then added almost sheepishly, "...If this is my own Clan,"
Then she returned her attention to this delightfully interesting tom. "Well," she meowed, almost slyly. "I am terribly thirsty..."

Lillystar figured she had to take what she could get. There wasn't much reasoning with either of these two.
"So, what is your answer tom?" she asked, making sure he agreed as well.

Ahh.....
Binx blinked at the MistClan leader. Well, seeing as this king is so far from his castle, then I would be happy to comply. He turned back to Juukai. And as to your thirst, my lady... Binx turned to a moss covered rock, clawing some of the absorbent green stuff off. He walked up to the river, carefully putting his paw and the moss in until it was suitably soaked. He presented his gift to the flame-eyed she-cat. I believe this will suffice.

Juukai bowed gratefully. "Thank you, good sir," she meowed majestically, or mock-majestically, as it happens. "Do you want any for yourself?" she asked, flashing her crazy, joyous grin again.
Then, once again almost randomly, she turned to Lillystar. "So, are we in?" she mewed hopefully.

Lillystar sighed, but decided to forego more detailed questions. This was as good as it seemed to get. Hopefully they would both be good warriors, no matter what crazy things they did with their own time. She turned and started padding toward the waterfall.
"You'll have to come through here and you'll get wet, but once you've done it several times you'll barely notice the wet anymore." "Our coats become sleek and water resistant after some time here, so yours should be no different." "If you really can't stand the wet, then you can try to wind yourself around it on the little sliver of land on either side." She slipped into the waterfall, letting the coolness of the water wash away her worries.

"Oh no. Water is a good thing," meowed Juukai cheerfully, giving Lillystar a wide, teeth-showing grin that was happy but unsettling at the same time.
