"Hmm..." Yin sighed as they padded onward slowly. "Mountains does sound appealing...And they're close enough to hear Mom's yowling if she's in trouble," he joked. He looked up at the craggy peaks that soared into the sky in the distance.

Ice came back with a plump vole in her mouth. "MOMMY! I CAUGHT A VOLE!" she squeaked to Zeporah.

The older queen sighed, hearing her sons parting references before their voices drifted, aloof, on the open air. She blinked quickly, refraining from releasing the stream that dared to flow, but instead, she turned towards her adopted daughter. A slow, chalky purr came from her throat, but it wasn't as heartfelt as it had been moments before... She just couldn't get her boys out of her mind... "Well done, little Ice. Even my boys took a while to learn their tricks. Looks like they'll have a hard time when you grow up." Her voice crackled with suppressed emotion, both old and new, as she reached down to lick a loving reward across the kit's ear.
Grasping the vole in her jaws, Zeporah lead on, her tail held straight up, defiant as ever, as she stepped onward in the opposite direction her two sons had gone. Her path wove among the plants, new and uncertain as she felt, in this loam of rogues, and where violent cats came to play...
