Kittens!

I went outside about an hour ago to let take my puppy out [we're house-breaking him], and I heard mewing under the house. I checked the crawl-space, and found two more kittens, a female and a male. The female's small like Umberkit, but she's in good health, so I decided to name her Icekit. ^^



This first thing she did when I brought the other kitties out was go over and 'kiss' Umberkit.



The male....he was not going to make it. I have my vet coem out and put him to sleep, he was in that bad of shape.

At least he died warm and with people who cared about him, instead of cold and alone under my house.

I have a picture of him [my friend's holding him]...this is how the poor little one was before the vet arrived.



I just hope he's happier now and no longer in any pain.

I feel so stupid. I think I'm going to go and have a good cry now.

If people weren't such idiots and just abondoned their pets [the mother cat belonged to our neightbors who moved away, and she was pregnant when they threw her out], he wouldn't be dead.

I'm glad Icekit made it. She's adorable. All four of them! You need to take picture of all of them together. (If they could sit still! o-o)

I'm so sorry for the younger kittens loss. I'm sure he's better now.. It must have been hard to put him down..

Oh yes they did. They were offering the kittens to all of us before they moved and decided they didn't want her. Adn when they did, she was so pregnant at the time it was hard for her to walk.

I've already tired, but that's next to impossible. Oh well, I shall try on.

It really was hard, but I had to look at what would be better for him. He was in so much pain and had suffered so much...I just couldn't let him go through any more of it.

I'm being weird and looking through oldish OOC threads, and found the picture of the little male who didn't make it. Thought it just might mean something that I instantly started to cry when I saw his picture and the text with him.

Is his eye badly infected, or is it gone? Or something else wrong with it?

Aw, they're so cute. <3 I feel odd posting on such an old thread o.o

But I have a similar story. A stray mother cat wasn't being to attentive with her kittens in the old place where I used to live. We found a tiny white kitten, his eyes barely even open, mewling beneath a bush. We put him back, figuring the mother would return. A few nights later, we found the white kitten in our garage, along with a dark gray she-kitten. We left them along. But a few days after that, our neighbor found the white tomkitten crying outside in the rain. Our neighbor took him in and bought him a tiny kitten-bottle and foruma and everything, but the kitten wouldn't eat.
Our neighbor called my mother and I over, and we tried to help the adorable little white kitten<3 We discovered that there was no hole in the bottle's nipple for the kitten to drink o.o
So we bottle-fed him; he woke up every three hours and screamed to be fed ^^
We named him Rocky, because he was a fighter.
Not long after, we found his siblings, the dark gray shekitten, and another white she-kitten who looked like a darker version of Rocky. We named her Adrian, and named the dark gray kitten Apollonia. (ah-pall-oh-nee-ah xD) Apollo, she caught on to the bottle-feeding fast. ^^ Rocky had always been slower, and it was clear by the way he kept missing the bottle that he was not the smartest kitteh xD But Adrian wouldn't eat.
A few days later, she died.
That was three years ago. Rocky is now asleep on my bed<3 His markings came in and darkened; he's a blue-point siamese, with some tabby in him. He has very faint stripes. He has two dark spots on his side, and pretty blue eyes that cross when he's confused. And they're always crossed. He's sweet but not intelligent.
His remaining sister has darkened to a full black, with tiny white hairs scattered everywhere, and orange eyes. The vets misspelled her name (they called her Applonia), so she's called Apple.

So sweet. I wish I had the privelege of saving cats' lives...but at the same time I never want to see a starving stray cat because I know that even if I do all I can, it might not make it.

You did the right thing in putting him down, <3 It's always sad, but seeing the condition the poor thing was in... life would have just got harder.

I'm so glad the others survived though, =)

Stray cats are pretty much nil around here, thankfully.

Kest: That picture of Rocky reminds me so much of my old cat, Jenna =3 She was a blue-point, also with very faint tabby markings. The fact his eyes are always crossed is like my current cat, Ollie xD Similarly not the cleverest cat ever.

i hate people who abandons there cats. They should be arrested for animal abuse. Why can't people at least put them in shelters. There so mean!

I'ma be a foster mum for cats and dogs when I'm older, but only like, two dogs at a time, and like seven cats. ^^

No one abandoned my cats except their mother. And the mother was the stray street-cat.
