For a cat with such a bad experience of life it's hard to understand why this little tom is just so upbeat and positive. He is a generally happy cat with a good outlook on life and believes that although life can be unfair, if you keep your head up and your thoughts in the right place, you will be rewarded. He's quite quiet but considering he's never spoken to any cat but his mother, suddenly meeting new cats will be quite a shock to him. Saying that he can also be very confident and he definitely knows his place, he has good manners and is incredibly polite. He is yet to meet someone he doesn't like so that will be an entirely new experience to him, also the whole idea of being a part of a Clan will throw him for a while. He's a patient cat with a good understanding of others' feelings, emotions and their results, particularly for one so young. He can empathise with many and will probably make friends easily. He's eager and willing to learn almost anything that will help him prove his worth and make his second chance at life easier. His main aim is to make his parents proud.

An average sized lean silver tomcat with five thin black stripes that cross over his spine and fade out on each side. He has a dark grey nose and pawpads and deep blue eyes. The insides of his ears are a dirty white colour due to the fact he hardly ever washes them. He's semi-long haired, focusing mainly on his chest and tail, whereas his legs and main body are quite short-furred. He has a long muzzle and kind looking face.

Dewpaw is the result of one of those ever so pesky half-Clan love stories that always have not so happy endings. His mother, a pretty dappled silver tabby, was born and raised in DawnClan but his father, a strong and muscular jet black cat, was born into NightClan and their dark legacy. Though the two came from such opposed Clans they struck a chord when they bumped into each other at a Gathering.. no literally, they ran into each other. The two were merely apprentices when they first met and continued a formal friendship throughout the rest of their training, closely watched by their mentors. As they grew older they started to enjoy each others company more and more, increasingly looking forward to Gatherings with every moon. Their mentors had now become their fellow Warriors and did not keep such a close eye on them, if they had, they would not have liked what they saw. Both cats unwittingly began to fall for the other and before they knew it they were sneaking out of camp after hours to meet at secret locations around the borders of their territories. After three seasons of their forbidden love Timberheart discovered she was quite far along carrying kits, Darkclaw's kits. Although this was considered fantastic news to both parents they knew their Clans would be equally as disapproving, NightClan in particular. Making a snap decision they fled the Clans together, running flat out until they'd put what they thought was a reasonable distance between them and the vengeful cold-hearted creatures who called themselves NightClan.

Obviously, the two Clans realised they were missing Warriors and set out to attempt to find them. They tracked them to the edge of their territories, the two cats' scents mingling to prove that they had gone together. DawnClan, being more forgiving in nature they did not push the matter, agreeing that it must have been very important for loyal Timberheart to have left her beloved Clan. NightClan, being the slightly less forgiving of the two, set out across the unclaimed territory to find their disloyal Warrior and bring him home. When they found the two cats sleeping peacefully they did not bother with explanations before sinking their teeth into Darkclaw's pelt and physically dragging him across the dirt back towards NightClan's territory. It took six cats to subdue the tom enough to take him away from his love, and even then he made one heck of a noise about it. Timberheart, instructed by Darkclaw, did not make any attempt to help, as she knew as well as he did that she would not be allowed to live if she interfered. The she-cat watched with terrible grief as her soul mate was returned to his Clan and never forgot the look on his face as their eyes met for the last time.

She never knew what happened to him, whether he was allowed to live, or if his disloyalty had cost him more than they'd ever imagined. Rather than rejoin her Clan and ask for forgiveness she continued to flee NightClan, fearing they might come back to find her. She roved for quite some time before collapsing inside an abandoned twoleg nest to have her kits. There were two, a tom and she-kit. The effort of travelling so far whilst pregnant had put too much strain on Timberheart’s body and the she-kit, named afterwards as Maplekit, was born dead. The tom was named Dewkit and he survived. He and his mother spent several moons together and an unhappy time it was too. Unbeknownst to Timberheart she had picked up whitecough as she trekked across the wasteland with her tiny kit in tow, left untreated it would soon turn into the deadly greencough and she had only a few moons left to live. Nearing the end of their time together the pair discovered a steep-sided valley, large enough to house more than the average number of cats. The place smelt of many different felines and as Timberheart began to realise that she would not see another leaf-fall, she set about trying to teach Dewkit the ways of the feral cat. She set up a den close to the borders of one of the four Clans and taught him the basics of the Warrior code and how to respect those who are your elders. She made sure that when she left him for StarClan, he would be in the perfect position to find a new and better home than the travelling life she had been forced to provide. Barely a sun had passed and the lights of Timberheart’s eyes would never shine again.

Dewpaw is now 9 moons old, he’s just lost the only family he has ever known and he is totally alone in the world.
